Burg Gilgenberg

The name of the castle is derived from the medieval Swiss ("Ilge") or German ("Gilge) word for lily. The castle was build in the 14th century and owned by the nobles of Ramstein. It was inhabitated until 1798 when French troops conquered and burned the castle.
