Built about 1150 by the Bishop of Basel for the Nobles of Falkenstein. 1356 destroyed by the big earthquake of Basel. Rebuild and from 1402 to 1798 owned by the Canton of Solothurn. 1798 destroyed and abandoned in the aftermath of the French revolution.
