Sold 1410 to the nobles of Bärefels, who lost in the Basel earthquake of 1356 their own castle in Aesch, Switzerland. These nobles were for generations both citizens of Basel and at the same time mayor of the city of Wehr. The castle was abandoned in the 16th century.
